Welcome back after Easter, this is our final term of this academic year. The children have worked very hard and I am proud of what they have achieved. Let’s hope for some sunshine and lots of fun.

Summer 2 – Castles and Dragons
| Literacy | Description writing based on castles and dragons. Writing a letter inviting someone to come and visit a castle. Labelling. Suffixes: ed, ing, er, est. Adverbs and expanded noun phrases. |
| Maths | Addition and Subtraction. Multiplication and Division including fractions of amounts. Number and Place Value. Bar graphs. |

Forest School will run for 3 weeks during the Summer Term 1.
| Literacy | Instructional writing and a story: Using bullet points and commas to create lists. Features of writing. Imperative verbs (bossy words), time connectives and adverbs. Traditional language, sentence types, adjectives and word types, story mapping/ walk and speech bubbles. |
| Maths | 2D and 3D shapes, Time, Addition and Subtraction, Multiplication and Division (halving Year 1), Measuring length, days of the week, months of the year, fractions, sequence events of time and number value. |
| Science | Naming and identifying parts of the plant, what a plant needs to survive and investigating a plant’s growth. |
